Mahogany Neighbourhood Centre is a dynamic community based organisation working with local residents to act on issues in the local area. The Centre provides:
• a range of social, educational and recreational programs in response to the changing needs of the Frankston North community
• a welcoming supportive environment
• friendly, understanding and caring staff
• opportunities to develop existing skills or learn new skills
• opportunities for volunteer participation
• a meeting place for the community

Committee of Management
Mahogany Neighbourhood Centre is governed by a community based Committee of Management, who are elected annually. The Committee of Management is responsible and accountable for the effective management of all funds, employees and activities of the Centre. Members of the Committee of Management are local residents and Centre users, most of whom previously participated in a class or activity.

Statement of Purposes
• to enhance the social and physical well being of the local community by working with local residents to promote and develop their ability to be self-determining and self-reliant
• to work in partnership with the local community to reduce social isolation, encourage social engagement and promote a sense of belonging and community spirit
• to enhance the social and economic development of the local community
• to operate on principles of inclusive participation, community empowerment and active citizenship
• to provide a local facility that is accessible, safe and welcoming for all community members
• to provide the community with opportunities to participate in life-long learning, social and recreational programs and activities which are responsive to the local community and that aim to be accessible to all, both financially and culturally
• to support, promote and encourage participation in local community initiatives
• to act as a local information and referral service
• to participate in community networks and work closely with communities of interest to best serve community needs
• to develop partnerships with local and wider interest based agencies to undertake joint projects, activities and programs

Tax Help is a network of community volunteers and community centres providing assistance to people on low incomes with their taxation responsibilities. Tax Help is sponsored by Tax Help centres and supported by the Australian Taxation Office.
